About Me: Ira N. Dickerman, CDT,AAS Co Owner and operator of Dickerman Dental Prosthetics, Sharon, MA USA. Dickerman Dental Prosthetics is a full service dental laboratory. Dickerman specializes in full mouth rehabilitation and complex restorative dentistry. Ira worked from the age of 13 in his father’s dental laboratory. Ira was formally trained in dental technology and has worked full time as a dental technician since 1977. In 1984 Ira had the opportunity to fabricate the first Branemark Hybrid Prosthesis to be delivered in New England. Since that time Ira has lectured Nationally and Internationally to Dentists, Dental Technicians and Implant Manufacturers Staff. Ira has received the Mass. Dental Society's "Technician of the Year" award as well as the "Excellence in Education" award from the National Assoc. of Dental Laboratories, in 2009. His lectures include many topics of interests to dentists and technicians including but not limited to: Dentist- Dental Laboratory Communication, Dental Photography, Dental Implants for dentists and technicians and Power Point Training.

Zirconia, More Biocompatible than High Noble Gold Alloy PFM's???

This evening I had a presentation at my dental laboratory with NobelBiocare. The title of the lecture was Zirconia vs PFM Restorations. The speaker, Dr. Thomas Williams showed several examples of less than ideal soft tissue health that resolved with changing to porcelain fused to zirconia restorations.
