SUMMARY:Dental ACLS & Airway Management Hands On Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will provide participants with American Hear
 t Association ACLS® Certification and provide a full day of emergency
  airway management techniques. Course consists of didactic lectures, i
 ntensive imaging, discussion and hands -on workshop with the world's m
 ost realistic airway mannequins and patient simulators.\n\nAudience: T
 his course is appropriate for dentists and assisting staff who are inv
 olved in the administration of sedation & analgesia.\n\nObjectives: At
  the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:\n\n1.
  Recognize and initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions tha
 t may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome;\n2
 . Manage cardiac or respiratory arrest until return of spontaneous cir
 culation and respiration, termination of resuscitation or transfer of 
 care;\n3. Recognize other life threatening clinical situations and pro
 vide effective initial care and transfer to reduce disability and deat
 h;\n4. Describe & demonstrate a variety of techniques for maintaining 
 oxygenation;\n5. Recognition and anticipation of difficult airways\n\n
 Devices: Mask ventilation, LMA and King LT rescue Ventilation, AirTraq
  Optical Laryngoscope\nDirect Laryngoscopy, Malleable Stylette, and Bo

 ublished approximately 30 peer-reviewed articles on emergency airway m
 anagement and is the author of 2 textbooks. He serves on the Editorial
  Board of Annals of Emergency Medicine, and is a reviewer for numerous
  emergency medicine and anesthesia journals. He has been a design cons
 ultant and investigator for many airway device manufacturers. He has g
 iven approximately 350 lectures on airway management worldwide, and fo
 r almost ten years has run a monthly hands-on cadaver-based airway wor
 kshop. He is currently an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at
  Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.\n\nDate: October 9
